Accessibility Act
Accessibility Statement
Hochkar & Ötscher Tourismus GmbH strives to make its websites accessible to everyone.
This accessibility statement applies to www.hochkar.com, shop.hochkar.com, www.oetscher.at, and shop.oetscher.at.
1. Compliance Status
These websites are partially compliant with the AA conformance level of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2” and the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on accessibility requirements for products and services, due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.
2. Non-accessible or Partially Accessible Content
The following content is not accessible for the reasons listed below:
a. Non-compliance with accessibility requirements / Disproportionate burden
- PDF and Word documents (especially older documents) used on the websites are not accessible. If you require content from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will make every effort to provide the information in an alternative format.
- The videos embedded on our websites are currently not accessible. Adapting them represents a disproportionate burden under the accessibility regulations. We are working to make all new videos accessible as soon as possible.
- Alternative texts for images are not always optimally selected. We are working to provide all images with appropriate alt text for screen reader users. Editors are being sensitized and trained accordingly.
- We strive to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words and to avoid complex sentence structures. If you find any text difficult to understand or only partially accessible, please contact us. We will provide a simpler version whenever possible.
- Lists such as accommodation lists, event lists, gastronomy lists, POI lists (sights), offer lists, and town or regional lists are based on structured data from our tourism database and are currently only partially accessible.
- The layout of the websites has been optimized for different device displays. The "viewport" tag is set to "maximum-scale=1", which disables zooming. Changing this would significantly affect the layout presentation.
- There are unlabeled ‘iframe’ elements on several pages.
- Some pages contain links without link text.
- The visual representation of text and images containing text does not always meet the required minimum contrast ratio (except where exemptions apply, e.g., for logos).
The incompatibilities listed above are being continuously corrected.
b. Content not covered by the applicable legal provisions
- Recorded time-based media such as videos and audio content published before 28 June 2025.
- Interactive maps are currently not fully accessible. However, the information from these maps is available in an accessible format elsewhere on our website.
- Third-party content: Our websites are partly based on content from a decentralized tourism database. Our content partners are required to provide texts and media in accessible formats. However, we cannot guarantee compliance with accessibility standards for third-party content.
3. Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on 10 June 2025.
The statement is based on an internal evaluation of the websites’ compliance with the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG), carried out by Hochkar & Ötscher Tourismus GmbH through a self-assessment according to WCAG 2.2.
4. Feedback and Contact Information
The content of our websites is continuously updated and expanded. To ensure ongoing accessibility, our employees regularly review the content and functionality. Usability and accessibility are important priorities for us.
If you encounter any barriers that hinder or limit your use of our websites, please contact us at: info@hochkar.com or info@oetscher.at
