GO FOR SKI - School Ski Day

On 17 December 2025, it’s time once again to say: GO FOR SKI! Austria’s cable car operators invite schools from across the country to enjoy a shared winter sports experience – a day where students and teachers alike can enjoy movement, fun and nature in Austria’s mountain landscapes.

A nationwide winter sports highlight

The GO FOR SKI school ski day takes place simultaneously in numerous ski resorts throughout Austria. We at Hochkar are delighted to be part of this special initiative and to welcome school classes to the mountain.

On this day, all students and teachers receive free ski passes at the participating ski resorts.
Please note: Rental equipment, transfers and catering are not included.

Easy registration via schools

Registration is simple and takes place via the registration form distributed nationwide to all school principals by the subject inspectorates. This form provides schools with:

  • all essential information on participation
  • a list of participating ski resorts by federal state
  • details on organisation and schedule

Schools from Vienna and Burgenland also have the option to spend their ski day in Lower Austria or Styria.

GO FOR SKI aims to show children and young people just how much joy a day in the snow can bring – and how important physical activity in nature truly is. We look forward to welcoming all participating classes and to an unforgettable ski day at Hochkar!
