First on the slopes – Ötscher all to yourselves
“Guga hö” means wide awake in the Mostviertel dialect – and that’s exactly how it feels when you arrive at the valley station in Lackenhof early in the morning, holding a hot cup of tea while the mountain still rests in silence.
The chairlift takes you up into the emerging day. Beneath you: freshly groomed, untouched slopes. At the top, you breathe in the crisp morning air, adjust your goggles – and carve the very first turns of the day into pristine snow. Accompanied by an experienced ski guide, you discover Ötscher’s most beautiful runs and scenic viewpoints – places where the view stretches far across the Mostviertel Alps and the day truly begins.
A culinary stop: hut brunch with a view
After the exclusive skiing experience, a well-earned highlight awaits: a Mostviertel hut brunch. Inside, the fireplace crackles warmly, pear sparkling wine fizzes in the glass and regional delicacies are served. The hut host presents local specialties – along with a story or two from the mountain.
Re-energised, you can head back onto the slopes or settle into a deck chair to soak up the sun and enjoy the sweeping views over the Mostviertel.
